You are cordially invited to the wedding of the year with the most unlikely bride and groom. Save the date . . . and say your prayers.
When funding for Lucy's non-profit job is pulled, she is determined to find out why. Enter Alex Sinclair, former professional football star and heir to Sinclair Enterprises--the primary donor to Lucy's non-profit organization.
Both Lucy and Alex have something the other desperately wants.
Alex has it all . . . except for the votes he needs to win his bid for Congress. Despite their mutual dislike, Alex makes Lucy a proposition: pose as his fiancée in return for the money she desperately needs. Bound to a man who isn't quite what he seems, Lucy finds her heart--and her future--on the line.
Save the Date is a spunky romance that will have readers laughing out loud as this dubious pair try to save their careers, their dreams . . . and maybe even a date.

Publisher's Weekly Review
Jones's sassy style is merely one of this romance novelist's many endearing talents. Jones (Just Between You and Me) concocts a story line that, though implausible in real life, doesn't detract a bit from an engaging and funny tale that brings together two of the most unlikely love interests: Lucy Wiltshire, the independent and poor proprietress of a young women's transitional housing shelter, and Alex Sinclair, former NFL star, aspiring congressman, and wealthy co-owner of Sinclair Enterprises. Sparks fly when these two strong-minded individuals meet at a gala event and Alex's ratings rise after the gossip rags tag Lucy and Alex as a lovebird pair. Alex devises a scheme that will benefit both him and Lucy; the question is whether these two can see the plan through without killing one another first. Some subtle faith messages about trusting God despite painful pasts round out this fast-paced, lighthearted romantic escape. (Feb.) © Copyright PWxyz, LLC. All rights reserved.
Library Journal Review
Lucy manages a home for teenagers who are aging out of the foster system. Unfortunately, her funding has been pulled. Alex Sinclair is running for a seat in Congress but lacks the votes to win. When he promises the funding for Lucy's home if she poses as his fiancee, Lucy agrees reluctantly. She despises him, and he's not all that fond of her, either. But sparks soon fly. VERDICT Though Jones (So Over My Head; Just Between You and Me) infuses her novel with humor and does a fairly good job of developing her characters, we've read this predictable story many times before. Still, those who enjoy Christian chick lit might just pick it up. (c) Copyright 2011. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc. No redistribution permitted.
